Customers can join us in in answering the call to end sexual and domestic violence.
Through our UniSource Gives program, we’ll make a donation to a local nonprofit group for each account holder who signs up for Budget Billing, e-bill or Auto Pay. UniSource’s donations in early 2022 will go to Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV).
The coalition is the only state-wide non-profit organization with a mission to end sexual and domestic violence in Arizona by dismantling oppression and promoting equity among all people.
ACESDV offers:
- The Arizona Sexual and Domestic Violence Helpline in Spanish and English through phone, chat, text, and email
- Financial assistance to sexual and domestic violence survivors
- Training and education
- Technical assistance (expert consultation)
- Public awareness
- Public policy advocacy and more.
UniSource’s contributions to ACESDV and other charities are funded from corporate resources that won’t be recovered through our rates. The additional donations that result from UniSource Gives will help the nonprofit expand its reach and impact in our community.
Wendy Erica Werden, UniSource’s Manager of Community Investment and Philanthropy, noted domestic abuse spans different economic levels, races, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and religious beliefs.
“It’s a systemic issue that no one entity can solve alone,” she said. “The additional donations that result from UniSource Gives will help support this work to end domestic abuse, which has become all the more pronounced throughout this persistent pandemic, given increased financial stress and isolation.”
Jenna Panas, ACESDV’s CEO, said creating a world free from violence takes action. “We must focus on the root causes, holding people who cause harm accountable, believing survivors, and supporting those who need assistance. To survivors of sexual and domestic violence: You are not alone. Help and resources are available and we are here to believe and support you.”
UniSource Gives makes it simple to support our community by signing up for programs that help keep our energy service easy and affordable. Thanks to our customers signing up for these services, UniSource contributed to these recipients in 2021:

- Junior Achievement – $10,000
